What you will do

• Install, test, and commission electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, and power distribution equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults to ensure minimal downtime.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with national and international electrical codes such as NEC, IEC, and IEEE.
• Prepare technical reports, test results, and as-built documentation.
• Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and junior engineers.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work field-based in Scotland / South East Scotland.
• 18th Edition and C+G 2365 Level 3 qualifications.
• 2–5+ years of field experience in electrical engineering.
• Strong understanding of power systems, protection, and control circuits.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar software.
• Willingness to travel and work in diverse field environments.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT certification.
• Ability to work at heights.
• OSHA Electrical Safety Certification or NFPA 70E / IEC safety training.
• HV/LV Switching authorization.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, drives, and automation systems.
