What you will do
- Define and lead applied AI initiatives across agent systems, LLM evaluation, and model optimization.
- Design and implement evaluation and benchmarking frameworks to measure and improve AI systems.
- Drive innovation in agentic systems, focusing on routing, memory, and context engineering.
- Prototype and validate new approaches, including fine-tuning strategies and open-weight models.
- Translate research into production-ready solutions in close collaboration with engineering teams.
- Establish and lead the Applied Science guild and mentor other technical team members.
Requirements
- 12+ years of overall experience in Applied Science or related fields.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in ML/AI with a track record of delivering production systems.
- Experience with agent-based systems or multi-step LLM workflows.
- Strong proficiency in working with LLMs and Generative AI in production environments.
- Deep understanding of evaluation methodologies, benchmarking, and model performance analysis.
- Must be based in Germany to work remotely or from the Berlin/Munich offices.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with model routing, fine-tuning, or open-weight models.
- Background in human-in-the-loop evaluation or annotation systems.
- Contributions to public research, technical blogs, or open-source projects.
