What you will do

• Design and improve retrieval systems including embeddings, hybrid search, and ranking.
• Shape the vector search backbone for representing jobs and resumes.
• Build LLM pipelines for query understanding, extraction, and matching.
• Establish scientific evaluation disciplines, including benchmark datasets and LLM-as-judge setups.
• Develop interactive prototypes for stakeholders to test approaches before production.
• Partner with engineering teams to ship winners to production and analyze A/B test results.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field from a top-tier program.
• Hands-on experience building applied ML or LLM systems like RAG or agentic pipelines.
• Strong data science depth with experience in designing experiments and building baselines.
• Fluent in Python with the ability to own pipelines end-to-end.
• Pragmatic, 80/20-minded approach to shipping solutions.
• Clear communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Track record of implementing research papers into working systems.
• Experience with latency-sensitive production ML.
• Experience running or analyzing A/B tests on search or recommendation systems.
• Exposure to multiple model providers and cost/latency benchmarking.
