What you will do
- Design and lead the structure of the Development department to support a $35M+ revenue base and long-term growth.
- Develop multi-year development strategies, translating organizational priorities into annual revenue goals and operating budgets.
- Optimize the Development technology ecosystem, including Salesforce CRM, and establish strict data governance standards.
- Oversee diverse revenue functions including major gifts, capital campaigns, corporate grants, and multi-channel direct marketing.
- Directly manage senior development leaders, serving as a coach and performance manager to build a strong talent pipeline.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and Board of Directors on fundraising strategy and donor portfolio design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive nonprofit development experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership overseeing multi-channel operations.
- Proven track record of building development infrastructure for organizations with $25M+ in annual revenue.
- Deep expertise in Salesforce NPC and CRM administration, including reporting architecture and gift coding.
- Experience leading capital campaigns ($25M+) and large-scale direct response programs.
- Must reside in the Washington D.C. Metro area.
Nice to have
- Direct experience serving military, Veteran, or military-family-focused organizations.
- CFRE, ACFRE, or equivalent professional credential.
