Staff Software Engineer, Release Engineering

Staff Software Engineer, Release Engineering (GitHub Actions/SonarQube/Nexus): Own and evolve shared Release Engineering platforms and workflows that enable teams to build, test, and deliver software reliably and securely, with an accent on GitHub Actions pipelines, safer authentication patterns, and platform guardrails. Location: Fully Remote (contribute from a non-hirify.global worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence)

Salary: USD 130,000 - USD 190,000 (yearly, bonus eligible)

What you will do

• Own and operate Release Engineering platforms including GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, and Nexus.
• Design, build, and maintain GitHub Actions workflows and pipelines used across multiple engineering teams.
• Lead initiatives to reduce/eliminate personal access tokens (PATs) by designing and promoting safer, scalable authentication patterns.
• Partner with Cyber and Identity/IdP teams to define, document, and enforce authentication and automation guardrails.
• Evaluate and govern Nexus artifact management use cases based on supportability, risk, and long-term maintenance.
• Ensure monitoring/alerting, participate in incident response and root cause analysis, and drive follow-up improvements and standardized automation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, developer tooling, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience building, operating, and supporting GitHub Actions workflows and pipelines in production.
• Experience administering and supporting GitHub Enterprise Cloud (or comparable source control/collaboration platforms).
• Experience operating and integrating developer tools such as SonarQube and Nexus (or equivalent code quality and artifact repository platforms).
• Experience designing automation using APIs and scripting to reduce manual/ad-hoc operational work.
• Experience implementing safer authentication patterns and reducing reliance on PATs; strong collaboration with Cyber and Identity/IdP teams.
