What you will do

• Own the regulatory strategy and licensing roadmap across APAC, from positioning to application approval.
• Build and manage primary legal relationships with regional regulators and top-tier external counsel.
• Translate regulatory changes in digital assets, stablecoins, and VASP frameworks into actionable business guidance.
• Partner with leadership on product structuring, market entry, and commercial partnerships with fintechs and financial institutions.
• Represent the company in high-impact strategic partnership discussions providing commercially minded legal leadership.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or digital assets.
• Deep APAC regulatory expertise with direct experience engaging authorities such as MAS, HKMA, FSC, or FSA.
• Strong understanding of how digital assets, stablecoins, and crypto payment systems operate in practice.
• Experience advising on payments products and licensing regimes (e.g., MAS MPI, PSP).
• Must be based in the APAC region.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and develop positions where legal precedent may not exist.

Nice to have

• Prior experience at a crypto exchange, neobank, or digital asset infrastructure provider.
• Familiarity with FATF Travel Rule requirements and VASP compliance frameworks.
• Existing relationships with APAC regulators, policymakers, or industry bodies.
