What you will do

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling.
• Define the vision and roadmap for the review tooling platform, including analytics and sandbox environments.
• Drive the strategy for scaling review through Claude-assisted and Claude-driven automation.
• Partner with policy, operations, legal, and data science teams to translate needs into reliable systems.
• Ensure tooling evolves alongside privacy primitives and data retention commitments.
• Oversee hiring and coaching to maintain a high-performing, inclusive technical team.

Requirements

• Experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring and coaching.
• Technical background in full-stack or platform engineering.
• Track record of shipping internal tools or platforms for demanding operational users.
• Experience working cross-functionally with non-engineering partners (legal, policy, operations).
• Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco, CA to satisfy hybrid office requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of management experience and 10+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• Experience building trust and safety, integrity, fraud, or abuse-prevention tooling.
• Knowledge of designing systems under strict privacy or data governance constraints (e.g., zero data retention).
• Experience integrating LLMs or agentic systems into operational workflows.
• Experience building extensible developer platforms or tooling frameworks.
