Annual Salary: $405,000 - $485,000 USD

What you will do
- Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling.
- Define the vision and roadmap for the review tooling platform, including analytics and sandbox environments.
- Drive the strategy for scaling review through Claude-assisted and Claude-driven automation.
- Partner with policy, operations, legal, and data science teams to translate needs into reliable systems.
- Ensure tooling evolves alongside privacy primitives and data retention commitments.
- Oversee hiring and coaching to maintain a high-performing, inclusive technical team.
Requirements
- Experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring and coaching.
- Technical background in full-stack or platform engineering.
- Track record of shipping internal tools or platforms for demanding operational users.
- Experience working cross-functionally with non-engineering partners (legal, policy, operations).
- Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco, CA to satisfy hybrid office requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- 4+ years of management experience and 10+ years of industry software engineering experience.
- Experience building trust and safety, integrity, fraud, or abuse-prevention tooling.
- Knowledge of designing systems under strict privacy or data governance constraints (e.g., zero data retention).
- Experience integrating LLMs or agentic systems into operational workflows.
- Experience building extensible developer platforms or tooling frameworks.
