Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote, Hybrid, or On-site in Washington, D.C.)

Salary: $20.00 per hour

What you will do

• Design and develop interactive information graphics and data visualizations in collaboration with reporters and editors.
• Research, analyze, and visualize data for high-impact reporting, including midterm election coverage.
• Pitch and research stories for the Education desk, writing for hirify.global.org and the hirify.global Ed newsletter.
• Assist correspondents with reporting, interview scheduling, and editorial strategy.
• Help launch and manage the hirify.global Student Podcast Challenge.
• Produce audio and digital content for various multimedia platforms.

Requirements

• Current student in an accredited degree program or recent graduate (within 12 months of start date).
• Must be based in the United States.
• Demonstrated experience creating web-based data visualizations using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and D3.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and data formats including Google Sheets, CSV, and JSON.
• Excellent research and written/verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience in a newsroom or similar editorial environment.

Nice to have

• Scripting skills in Python or similar languages.
• Experience in audio production.
