What you will do

• Pitch news and feature story ideas for Morning Edition.
• Book guests and conduct pre-interviews for program segments.
• Conduct research for reporters and editors at the Washington Desk regarding politics and national security.
• Produce and edit radio pieces, including gathering sound in the field and building audio clipboards.
• Write host copy, interview questions, and digital stories for the web.

Requirements

• Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate (within 12 months).
• Strong interest in news, politics, government, and current events.
• Some prior experience in journalism or news reporting (e.g., college or local public radio).
• Excellent research skills and the ability to find unique perspectives on major news stories.
• Ability to own tasks from concept to completion.
