What you will do

• Contribute ideas for news programming and participate in daily planning meetings.
• Gain hands-on experience as a reporter, producer, and on the assignment desk.
• Monitor websites and social media for news leads and competitive intelligence.
• Write articles for the website using AP Style and produce digital newscasts.
• Cut video from newscasts and add metadata for social media and app distribution.
• Coordinate guests for newscasts and manage news assignments within the system.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (minimum 30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be willing to work onsite at the station in West Hartford, CT.

Nice to have

• Pursuing a major in Journalism, Communications, or a similar subject.
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and WordPress.
• Experience using TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish/English.
• Knowledge of AP Style and newswriting.
