What you will do

• Assist with research, graphic creation, and video sourcing for breaking news and live broadcasts.
• Monitor social media and web sources to identify and track breaking news stories.
• Support the production team in the control room during live broadcasts and cut-ins.
• Manage and build show elements, including rundowns, segments, and intros.
• Troubleshoot technical and logistical issues in real-time to ensure seamless on-air delivery.
• Collaborate with technical, graphics, and audio departments to maintain high production standards.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work in-person at 30 Rock, Wednesday-Sunday, 8pm-4am.
• At least 1 year of news production or internship experience at the network or cable level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, History, or a related field.
• Strong news judgment and keen interest in national and international current events.
• Ability to remain calm and resourceful under pressure in a live-news environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude for learning automated control room systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Avid Media Central, Avid Interplay, VizRT graphics, iNews, and Slack.
• Demonstrated ability to handle logistics and coordinate across diverse production units.
