What you will do

• Architect and own scalable microservices and data pipelines from the ground up.
• Lead performance improvements and participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.
• Design and implement robust RESTful APIs with a focus on backward compatibility.
• Collaborate with peers on code reviews, testing strategies, and architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior software engineers and guide technical direction within the team.
• Ensure system reliability through effective monitoring, logging, and observability practices.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Austin, TX.
• 5+ years of experience in Java, C#, or related programming languages.
• Proven experience designing scalable, distributed systems using microservices and event-driven architectures (Kafka/SQS).
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies (AWS) and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB), caching (Redis), and search engines (Elasticsearch).
• 3+ years of experience specifically in leading systems design.
