TL;DR

Senior Accountant (Finance): Managing financial data, journal entries, and account reconciliations for utility-scale solar ownership structures with an accent on GAAP compliance and internal controls. Focus on coordinating monthly/quarterly closes, supporting annual audits, and analyzing financial performance for institutional investors.

Location: Hybrid in Princeton, NJ. Must be based in the USA; no visa sponsorship provided (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.)

Salary: $96,000 - $112,000 USD

A leading clean energy company managing a large portfolio of wind, solar, and battery energy storage assets.

What you will do

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes within specified timeframes.
  • Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and equity transactions to ensure accurate general ledger closes.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for financial statement assertions and internal controls over reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements for solar projects for lenders and owners.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Portfolio Finance, and Asset Management to provide accurate reporting.
  • Support the annual audit process by compiling schedules and responding to external auditor requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in general accounting.
  • Proficiency in ERP accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Practical understanding of internal control processes for financial reporting.
  • Valid US work authorization; the company will not sponsor non-immigrant visas.

Nice to have

  • CPA or Master’s degree in accounting.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Background in the energy or real estate industries.
