Location: Hybrid in New York City (3 days onsite/week). Must have existing US work authorization; no visa sponsorship provided.

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000

What you will do

• Lead the migration to VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF 9) and manage the full VMware stack including vSphere, NSX-T, and vSAN.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, and PowerCLI to automate provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Monitor real-time capacity and drive the replacement of end-of-life servers to ensure service continuity.
• Deploy AI-driven monitoring and self-healing playbooks within Aria Operations to resolve performance issues.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support on a 24x7 on-call rotation, including security patching and firmware upgrades.
• Maintain DR planning and testing to achieve strict RPO (<5s) and RTO (<15m) targets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with large-scale VMware environments (vSphere 8+, NSX-T, vSAN).
• Expert-level automation skills with PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, and Python/PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with Aria Operations, VRLI, and VRNI for performance and network insight.
• Solid understanding of enterprise storage (EMC/Isilon, Pure, Dell/NetApp) and deep networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs).
• Experience applying AI ops concepts such as predictive monitoring and intelligent capacity forecasting.
• Must be based in or be able to work in New York City.

Nice to have

• VMware certifications such as VCP-CMA or VCAP-CF.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
