What you will do

• Define and maintain product requirements across the full hardware development cycle grounded in customer needs and business constraints.
• Partner with Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Firmware Engineering teams to overcome technical challenges.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design to ensure the product meets commercial customer expectations and brand standards.
• Drive optimization for cost, user experience, serviceability, and reliability.
• Synthesize field learnings into actionable product improvements to close the loop between the field and engineering.
• Own the product roadmap beyond Gen 1, including accessories and market expansion strategies.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of product management experience.
• At least 3 years of experience working on hardware or electromechanical products.
• Proven track record of shipping hardware from late-stage development and pilot to commercial deployment.
• Strong cross-functional execution skills to coordinate Engineering, Ops, and Sales.
• Technical depth to engage substantively with engineers on tradeoffs and escalations.
• Location: Must be based in San Bruno, California

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial food service, institutional kitchens, or food waste/recycling equipment.
• Experience with field-serviceable hardware or devices requiring ongoing maintenance.
• Familiarity with IoT-connected hardware products.
• Experience at an early-stage hardware startup.
