What you will do

• Provide technical support for the design, analysis, and testing of communications and network engineering projects.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation aligned with internal standards.
• Conduct field and desk-based investigations to troubleshoot operational issues and identify improvements.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of industrial network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Perform commissioning and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with operational requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff and contractors regarding installations and inspections.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• Post-secondary education in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and supporting Ethernet and enterprise network systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
• Familiarity with network security principles such as firewalls, VPNs, and encryption.
• Proficiency with CADD tools (preferably MicroStation) and MS Office.

Nice to have

• Professional certification (PEO or OACETT).
• Networking certifications.
• Experience with SONET/SDH systems.
