TL;DR
Senior CAE and AI Expert (AI): Building production-grade simulation workflows, validation benchmarks, and automation tooling for automotive safety and consumer electronics durability with an accent on nonlinear FEA, AI-assisted simulation acceleration, and end-to-end workflow integration. Focus on designing crash, occupant safety, pedestrian safety, drop-test, and vibration workflows, deploying simulations on HPC and Cloud resources, and translating field requirements into the product roadmap.

Location: Hybrid in Lausanne or Cambridge; 3 days per week in the Lausanne office

What you will do

  • Design and develop simulation workflows, validation benchmarks, and solution templates for automotive structural analysis and consumer electronics durability.
  • Map design changes, automated meshing, solver configuration, job execution, and design optimisation onto the platform.
  • Use ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, Radioss, Hypermesh, ANSA, and Simlab to deliver accurate, fast, and repeatable workflows.
  • Write Python automation for data preprocessing, solution packaging, workflow integration, and reproducibility.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to validate platform capabilities and shape the product roadmap through real-world simulation use cases.
  • Execute and refine complex simulations with HPC and Cloud resources, including GPU acceleration.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of hands-on FEA simulation experience in automotive or consumer electronics environments.
  • Expertise with mechanical pre-solve-post tools such as ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, Radioss, Hypermesh, Simlab, ANSA, Meta, or d3plot.
  • Strong knowledge of structural nonlinear simulation, including implicit and explicit solvers, contact formulations, material models, and failure criteria.
  • Experience with automotive safety simulations or product durability testing, including crash, occupant safety, pedestrian safety, drop test, shock, or vibration.
  • Experience across CAD preparation, meshing, solving, post-processing, and visualisation, plus Python scripting.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Ability to work independently and explain complex technical concepts clearly is also required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with C++, Java, C#, OpenFOAM, FEniCSx, Gmsh, or ParaView.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted simulation acceleration, design optimisation, or parametric study automation.
  • Experience with Git, modern development environments, and basic CI for validating templates and scripts.
