Field Service Engineer (Automotive AI)

Location: United Kingdom; field-based travel across the UK and Europe. Weekly overnight travel is essential, with occasional work outside standard business hours.

What you will do

• Lead on-site installations from site readiness and system setup through testing, commissioning, and customer handoff.
• Coordinate and direct third-party contractors as Lead Field Service Engineer, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely work.
• Install, configure, test, validate, maintain, and repair hirify.global hardware and supporting systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, electrical, and mechanical issues through resolution or escalation.
• Act as the primary on-site technical contact for customers and collaborate with Operations, Support, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Document installation, commissioning, maintenance, and service work and report recurring field issues.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Engineer, Field Technician, or in a similar installation or maintenance role.
• Experience leading contractors or teams during technical installations.
• Hands-on skills in civil works, networking, electrical wiring, and mechanical assemblies.
• Working knowledge of Linux-based systems, basic networking, and AutoCAD, Autodesk, or similar software for interpreting site layouts.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, customer service, and safety skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Europe, including weekly overnight travel, plus a valid driving licence.

Nice to have

• Startup or fast-growing company experience.
• Certified electrician qualification or relevant electrical experience.
• Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Automotive industry experience, CAD experience, or additional scripting, networking, and advanced troubleshooting knowledge.
