What you will do

• Design and implement automated test suites for RESTful APIs using the Karate framework and Gherkin syntax.
• Perform exploratory API testing, validation, and test data setup using Postman.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps to validate backend functionality and integration points.
• Maintain and enhance the Karate-based automation framework, including utilities for authentication and response parsing.
• Support manual testing efforts for backend workflows and participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Document test strategies, cases, and results in alignment with team standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in backend and API testing.
• Hands-on experience with the Karate framework for API automation or similar tools.
• Proficiency in Postman for API testing and validation.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API principles (HTTP methods, status codes, JSON/XML payloads).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and system testing strategies.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Playwright or Selenium for UI automation.
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or mocking frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud providers, specifically AWS.
