Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive): Executing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes with assigned suppliers to ensure compliance with GM quality standards and safety requirements. Focus on identifying manufacturing risks, leading root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement across the supply base.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Warren, Michigan (Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site)

What you will do

• Execute APQP processes with assigned suppliers to meet program milestones.
• Ensure supplier compliance with PPAP, control plans, and FMEA standards.
• Review manufacturing processes to identify risks and prevent quality issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective action determination.
• Verify on-site implementation of corrective actions and read-across learnings.
• Travel regularly (25-50%) to supplier and GM facilities to ensure robust quality execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum two years of experience in Quality, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Proficiency in print reading, part measurement, and gage design.
• Strong comprehension of GD&T, statistical quality control, and design of experiments.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and travel as required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree with a technical focus (Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, etc.).
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
