TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Operations Engineer (Manufacturing/Operations): Develop and manage production schedules, SOPs, and inventory/material flows to ensure timely hardware provisioning and testing with an accent on resolving manufacturing deviations and minimizing downtime. Focus on training operators, troubleshooting deployed products for internal customers, and coordinating technical issue resolution across the product lifecycle.
Location: Tokyo, Japan (On-site)

What you will do
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely provisioning and testing of hardware while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Create and continuously improve SOPs, and train/support operators for consistent and safe manufacturing execution.
- Oversee raw material procurement and inventory control to keep production running without interruption.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing process issues, classify deviations, and decide on rework to reduce production downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with finished products deployed to internal customers (e.g., US, Europe) and act as a technical point of contact for product-related claims and malfunctions post-deployment.
Requirements
- Business-level English proficiency.
- Conversational-level Japanese.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related engineering areas (product engineering, manufacturing/production engineering & operations, service operations, or supply management).
- Good understanding of Linux and hands-on experience using Linux; experience using git.
- Experience with ERP requirements/customization (e.g., SAP) and ability to create/review electrical and mechanical drawings; ability to understand C/C++, python, and bash; knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (or equivalent).
