Senior Financial Analyst (Accounting and Reporting)

Senior Financial Analyst (Accounting and Reporting): Supporting controllership operations for Studio Support and Participations & Residuals Accounting with an accent on fixed assets, monthly close, and financial reporting. Focus on preparing balance sheet reviews, optimizing reporting routines, and collaborating with FP&A and contract administration teams.

Location: Hybrid: Minimum of four days per week in the office (Universal City, California)

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 yearly

What you will do

• Support accounting and reporting for Universal Domestic Theatrical Reporting and Focus Features, managing Fixed Assets and cash application.
• Handle participations and residuals accounting, including preparation of monthly by-title rollforwards for Universal Studio Group.
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly close processes through journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Prepare key schedules for the quarterly Balance Sheet Review package and corporate data requests.
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to build efficiencies into existing reporting routines.
• Perform technical accounting research and collaborate with FP&A and Financial Contract Administration teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Exceptional Excel skills and working knowledge of PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Universal City, California office (hybrid).

Nice to have

• CPA license or currently on the path to obtaining one.
• Knowledge of SAP and Analysis for Excel (AOE).
• Accounting background within the entertainment industry.
