TL;DR

Principal Digital Design Engineer (Digital IC/SOC): Lead and execute the full digital IC design flow for complex System-on-Chip (SOC) products with an accent on RTL coding (Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis, static timing analysis, formal verification, and power analysis. Focus on building robust verification and post-silicon debug, mentoring engineers, and driving design methodologies to meet challenging performance, power, and area targets.

What you will do

  • Lead the full digital IC design flow for complex SOCs: specification definition, architectural design, RTL coding (Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis, STA, formal verification, and power analysis.
  • Implement and verify design-for-testability (DFT) and contribute to DFT verification.
  • Collaborate with analog, mixed-signal, and software teams to define interfaces and optimize system performance and integration.
  • Develop digital architectures and design methodologies to hit performance, power, and area targets.
  • Perform comprehensive verification using simulation, formal methods, and hardware emulation; support post-silicon validation and debug.
  • Mentor junior engineers, produce design documentation (specifications, test plans, design reviews), and improve design processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in digital IC design with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Expertise in Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design and verification.
  • Proven experience with industry-standard EDA tools for synthesis, STA, formal verification, and simulation (e.g., Synopsys/Cadence tools and VCS/QuestaSim).
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles including CDC, power integrity, and low-power design techniques.
  • Experience with scripting for automation and design flow optimization (e.g., Python, Perl, Tcl).
  • Ability to work in Catania and lead technical discussions in a collaborative environment.
