Sales Director

TL;DR
Sales Director (Theatrical Sales): Lead Universal’s theatrical sales strategy and execution in Germany, driving exhibitor partnerships and box office performance across all releases. Focus on commercial negotiations, forecasting and P&L impact, and scaling distribution approaches for both tentpole and smaller releases.
Location: Herriotstrasse 6-8, Frankfurt, Germany (teams in Frankfurt and Berlin)

What you will do
- Develop and execute Germany theatrical sales strategies across all releases, aligned with global and regional guidelines.
- Drive local dating strategies and movie-by-movie commercial planning, forecasting, and post-release performance analysis.
- Lead commercial negotiations with exhibitors, including deal structures, terms & conditions, and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Maintain and expand key German exhibitor relationships and represent Universal at industry events and boards.
- Lead, develop, and coach the German sales team in Frankfurt and Berlin, including talent management and succession planning.
- Partner with Marketing and Finance to optimize release scheduling, forecasting, and delivery; introduce new processes and tools.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in theatrical sales and distribution.
- Fluency in German and English required.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills for high-stakes commercial discussions.
- Proven people leadership experience (motivate, inspire, and grow high-performing teams).
- Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting and P&L understanding.
- Experience using digital tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies (including AI) in commercial workflows.
