What you will do

• Design and implement backend features within an existing service architecture.
• Build and maintain scalable services powering user experiences and internal systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested production-grade code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.
• Improve system health by enhancing observability and fixing performance issues.

Requirements

• Experience building backend systems using Java in a production environment.
• Strong Java fundamentals, including multithreading, service design, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of distributed systems and experience developing/consuming RESTful APIs.
• Ability to handle the development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Proficiency in engineering practices such as testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Location: Must be based in ANZ (Australia/New Zealand).
