TL;DR

Commercial Pricing Strategist (Finance): Developing and operationalizing data-driven pricing strategies for a portfolio of products with an accent on market competitiveness and regulatory compliance. Focus on building advanced financial models, conducting competitive analysis, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders to improve margin realization.

Location: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY. Must be able to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $130,000.00–$170,000.00 Annually

What you will do

  • Shape and operationalize commercial pricing strategies to transition from reactive to market-driven decision-making.
  • Develop pricing strategies for a diverse portfolio of products and offerings across targeted customer segments.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to translate customer behavior and geographic variations into actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze government and public-sector pricing for complex proposals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain advanced financial models to evaluate pricing scenarios, margin impact, and elasticity.
  • Partner with Sales and Finance leadership to drive pricing discipline and improve win rates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of proven experience in pricing, commercial strategy, or analytical finance roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and pricing analytics.
  • Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and align teams around strategic pricing decisions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with government pricing and familiarity with FAR, DFARS, TINA, or CAS.
  • Exposure to value-based pricing and segmentation strategies.
  • Experience working with BI platforms, pricing tools, or ERP systems.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into executive-level insights.
