What you will do

• Review technical documentation for generation and industrial loads to determine control strategies.
• Develop and validate RMS and EMT simulation models based on field measurements.
• Perform power flow, short-circuit, contingency, and stability studies.
• Conduct grid compliance and system impact studies for renewable energy and load interconnections.
• Develop user-defined models for specialized control and protection schemes.
• Prepare technical study reports and contribute to software development and testing.

Requirements

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering specializing in Power Systems.
• Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with EGBC.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Strong knowledge of power system modeling, calculation methods, and stability analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C/C++.
• Experience in transmission system planning and interconnection studies.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in power system simulation software such as DSA Tools, PSS/E, PSCAD, or DigSILENT PowerFactory.
• Experience in power system research or customer support.
