Salary: $184,000 - $208,000

What you will do

• Own the engineering experience for external payload partners integrating with the software platform.
• Partner with Flight, Mission, and Systems Engineering teams to influence payload interface design.
• Lead customer-facing technical exchanges, design reviews, and integration test campaigns.
• Author and maintain developer guides, sample code, and reference applications for the Payload SDK.
• Define and track metrics for customer integration experience and manage OKRs.
• Mentor software engineers and raise the bar for code quality and documentation.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. person or eligible for export control authorization (ITAR/EAR compliance).
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fluency in modern C++ and Python.
• Experience designing and operating service interfaces like gRPC/protobuf or REST.
• Demonstrated experience integrating software across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Rust.
• Experience with spaceflight flight software or safety-critical embedded systems.
• Direct experience integrating third-party payloads with a satellite bus.
• Familiarity with Linux-based real-time systems and embedded networking protocols.
