Salary: $159,000–$184,000

What you will do

• Define test strategies and procedures for optical, optomechanical, and moving mechanism subsystems.
• Execute functional, performance, and environmental testing including vibration and thermal-vacuum (TVAC) stress.
• Develop and operate ground support equipment (GSE) for instrument characterization and spacecraft integration.
• Analyze test data, perform root cause analysis, and generate comprehensive technical reports.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, AI&T teams, and program managers to improve testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. person or eligible for export control authorization (ITAR/EAR compliance).
• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in an engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary environments with imaging or infrared remote sensing systems.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with precision optical and mechanical metrology equipment.
• Ability to work on-site in Mountain View, CA three days per week.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) for test fixture design.
• Experience assembling and characterizing moving mechanism assemblies.
• Experience working in cleanroom environments.
