Manual/CNC Cylindrical Grinder (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom; shift work, including nights and overtime when requested.

What you will do

• Set and operate manual cylindrical grinding machines, including S20 and RM250.
• Set CNC cylindrical grinders, preferably Studer S33 or S31.
• Machine exotic and hardened materials to exceptionally close aerospace tolerances.
• Perform precision manual cylindrical grinding to limits of 0.00005 inches.
• Set and run multiple machines and processes, carrying out first-off inspections and completing quality documentation.
• Work toward becoming self-certified and a quality stamp holder after the qualifying period.

Requirements

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship and apprentice-trained experience.
• Essential experience in cylindrical grinding.
• Experience in an engineering or manufacturing role within the aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of machining techniques, appropriate tooling, and inspection equipment for achieving drawing tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement.
• Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance must be obtained and maintained.

Nice to have

• Experience with mate grinding.
• Experience with Studer S33 or S31 CNC grinders.
