TL;DR

Vice President, Global Retail Creative (Retail Design): Leading the global creative vision for retail environments across Universal Destinations & Experiences with an accent on visual merchandising, store design, and guest experience. Focus on driving commercial performance, establishing design governance, and managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver immersive, brand-forward retail experiences globally.

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in Orlando, FL, USA

What you will do

  • Define and lead the global visual merchandising and store design strategy aligned with brand and commercial objectives.
  • Direct end-to-end creative concept development for stores, activations, and seasonal programs.
  • Establish design principles, standards, and governance for global retail environments and fixtures.
  • Manage annual operating budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility in creative resource allocation.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of designers and project leaders.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, and Franchise teams to drive revenue and guest engagement.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in visual merchandising, interior design, architecture, or retail experience development.
  • Proven track record of supporting global multi-location retail or omnichannel environments.
  • Strong leadership experience managing creative teams and cross-functional projects in global locations.
  • Deep knowledge of in-store consumer behaviors, retail trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with USA regulatory requirements (OSHA, ADA) for store design.
  • English proficiency required; additional languages like Mandarin or Japanese are a plus.

Nice to have

  • Experience with international regulatory requirements for store design (Asia, UK/EU).
  • Theme-park or global retailer industry background.
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual merchandising.
