TL;DR

Senior Manager - Accounting Policy (Finance): Providing authoritative technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, mergers, and acquisitions with an accent on US GAAP and SEC reporting. Focus on leading technical accounting reviews, implementing industry best practices, and managing emerging disclosure risks.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Atlanta, Georgia; requirement to be in office at least four days per week)

What you will do

  • Provide authoritative technical accounting guidance on complex strategic transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Lead periodic reviews of technical areas including consolidation, segment reporting, goodwill, and intangible assets.
  • Review and provide quality assurance for quarterly financial statements and publicly reported information (10-Qs and 10-Ks).
  • Manage a matrixed accounting policy team, ensuring proper task allocation and execution of reporting analyses.
  • Represent the firm in industry accounting standard-setting working groups and perform peer benchmarking.
  • Identify and implement responses to emerging disclosure risks and support corporate audits.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and CPA certification.
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting, US GAAP accounting policy, and/or SEC reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, Consolidation, and Fair Value guidance.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical accounting issues for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple competing projects in a fluid environment.
  • Strong grasp of technology and the ability to lead the organization in adopting new systems.
