What you will do

• Research, develop, and deploy AI-based solutions to automate content moderation and review of Canva’s content.
• Guide the technical vision and be responsible for the breakdown and delivery of large-scale projects.
• Perform hands-on software development in close collaboration with leads, designers, and product managers.
• Foster a healthy team culture through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and design showcases.
• Advocate for engineering needs to non-technical stakeholders within the organization.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to innovate the content safety domain.

Requirements

• Must be based in Australia.
• 5+ years of industry experience in a machine learning engineering role within a Product/SaaS company.
• Experience in text, image, video, and audio understanding (highly desirable).
• Proven experience proposing and implementing automation initiatives with humans-in-the-loop.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Product Managers and other business functions.
