Mechanical Engineer (Networking)

Total Compensation: $220,000–$400,000 (Base salary: $120,000–$180,000)

What you will do

• Design and validate next-generation modules and chassis for high-port-density switches.
• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using PTC Creo for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Design heat sinks and conduct air flow and thermal testing to support simulations.
• Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and product changes using Agile PLM tools.
• Collaborate with ECAD teams on PCB placement and coordinate with contract manufacturers on DFM.
• Perform lab-based prototype verification and debug mechanical issues.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Santa Clara, CA, USA.
• Experience with mechanical design for data center computer/network equipment (preferred).
• Proficiency in designing sheetmetal and plastic parts.
• Willingness to travel to Asia and North America as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PTC Creo and Mechanica (Creo Simulate).
• Knowledge of thermal simulation, air flow testing, or liquid cooling systems.
• Familiarity with PTC Windchill.
