TL;DR
Senior Software Developer (C++/Fintech): Developing and maintaining the NYFIX FIX Marketplace to provide global connectivity for buy sides, sell sides, and vendors with an accent on high-performance, low-latency systems. Focus on optimizing multi-threaded applications, solving complex FIX message manipulation challenges, and ensuring system stability under heavy throughput.
Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, Canada (1-2 days in office per week)
Salary: CAD $100,000 – $120,000

What you will do
- Develop and maintain the BTCS NYFIX FIX Marketplace and related connectivity products.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, from product specification and design to implementation and testing.
- Build and optimize high-performance, low-latency applications for a global community of financial entities.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and performance tuning to ensure high throughput.
- Provide level 3 production support, including infrequent on-call assistance outside normal business hours.
Requirements
- Must be based in the Vancouver area, Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in C++ on Linux/Unix.
- Deep expertise in multi-threaded programming and high-performance application development.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with FIX engines and FIX application development.
- Experience building order management, order routing, trading, or risk management systems.
- Knowledge of middleware such as TibRV, MQ, 29 West LBM, or Solace.
- Experience with databases (Oracle, Sybase, MySQL) or Core Java.
- Proficiency with Boost or Perl.
