Salary: $95,000 - $125,000 per year

What you will do

• Bring up, test, and debug new ROICs, focal plane arrays, and readout electronics.
• Develop and improve test systems, fixtures, and workflows for device characterization.
• Perform electro-optical testing and analyze performance metrics like noise, linearity, and responsivity.
• Write and maintain test automation scripts and data analysis tools using Python or MATLAB.
• Debug mixed-signal issues at the board and device level using standard lab equipment.
• Support hardware integration into cryogenic and vacuum test environments.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for ITAR compliance (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
• Must be able to work onsite in Chicago, IL.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience testing and debugging analog, digital, or mixed-signal electronics.
• Experience writing scripts for test automation, data acquisition, or hardware control.
• Strong debugging skills and a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with readout integrated circuits, focal plane arrays, or imaging sensor characterization.
• Familiarity with high-speed interfaces like LVDS, Camera Link, CoaXPress, or SPI/I2C.
• Experience working in cryogenic, vacuum, or optical test environments.
• Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced R&D setting.
