Solutions Engineer (IAM)

TL;DR

Solutions Engineer (IAM): Driving technical sales cycles for the Okta Identity Platform with an accent on identity and access management, API integration, and cloud security. Focus on designing Proof of Concepts, aligning technical solutions with business needs, and advising C-level executives on digital transformation.

Location: Remote (Must be based on the US West Coast: Washington, California, or Oregon)

Salary: $160,000 — $246,000 USD OTE

What you will do

• Act as the technical and domain expert for the Corporate/New Business sales team to demonstrate the value of Okta's solutions.
• Understand customer challenges and provide tailored product demonstrations to align solutions with business needs.
• Plan and deliver Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for customers with complex use cases.
• Provide technical feedback to product management to drive product enhancements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to solve complex technical requirements and share best practices within the SE team.
• Support marketing events, including executive briefings and conferences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Strong proficiency in IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
• Hands-on experience in web, mobile, or backend development (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python, Node.js).
• Experience working with REST APIs, API Gateways, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Must be based in Washington, California, or Oregon.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Auth0, Auth0 FGA, or OpenFGA.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM technology (LangChain, GenKit, LlamaIndex).
• Experience developing ReBAC or Fine-Grained Authorization models.
