Supplier Development Engineer

Location: Onsite in Piedras Negras, Mexico

What you will do

• Conduct risk assessments and onsite audits for new and current suppliers.
• Develop capable and stable supplier manufacturing processes and implement supplier improvement plans.
• Support procurement category strategies, supplier selection and qualification, and supplier risk management.
• Establish and manage material qualification processes, including PPAP for new materials and engineering changes.
• Lead supplier quality incident escalations, Safe Launch programs, surveillance quality system audits, and scorecard monitoring.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams on new product development and improvement actions.

Requirements

• Engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality or supplier development.
• Experience with ISO, IATF 16949, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
• Knowledge of VDA 6.3 auditing is required.
• Advanced MS Office skills and basic SAP knowledge.
• Bilingual Spanish-English communication skills required.
