TL;DR

Research Scientist (Semiconductor Optics): Developing and validating optical and optoelectronic research for semiconductor technology with an accent on light–matter interactions, optical/optoelectronic device physics simulations, and experimental test benches. Focus on designing, building, and operating vacuum-based equipment and spectroscopy/materials characterization methods to support technology roadmap decisions.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate optical and electronic test benches to probe light–matter interactions.
• Run optical and optoelectronic device physics simulations using tools such as Zemax, COMSOL, and Lumerical.
• Design, build, and operate vacuum-based equipment for experimental research.
• Apply materials characterization and spectroscopic methods to evaluate device and material behavior.
• Collaborate proactively and communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally to support technology roadmaps.

Requirements

• Background in semiconductor physics, optics, light–matter interactions, and semiconductor processing.
• Experience designing, building, and operating optical and electronic device test benches.
• Experience with optical and optoelectronic device physics simulations (Zemax, COMSOL, Lumerical, etc.).
• Experience designing, building, and operating vacuum-based equipment.
• Experience with materials characterization and spectroscopic methods.
• Ph.D. in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or a related field in optoelectronic devices.
