Principal Validation and Hardware Design Engineer (SerDes)

Expected base pay: $150,680–$225,700 per annum

What you will do

• Lead the generation, review, and refinement of product bring-up, test, and silicon validation plans.
• Create test plans and prepare internal validation result documentation.
• Execute validation strategies and make independent technical decisions during product bring-up.
• Collaborate with design, firmware, validation, chip design, and system engineering teams to debug issues and identify root causes.
• Guide validation professionals and direct reports while fostering accountability and innovation.
• Coordinate with validation and functional teams in the United States and other locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Technical silicon validation experience, preferably with SerDes, high-speed interfaces, and system marginality validation.
• At least 3 years of experience as a project lead.
• Experience developing software and Python test scripts.
• Working knowledge of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and BERTs.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Matlab, PCB schematic review, and PCB debugging.
• Knowledge of wireline communication theory and physical-layer specifications such as IEEE 802.3 and Common Electrical Interface.
• Experience with high-speed I/O, transceivers, transmitters, or receivers.
