What you will do
- Lead sustainable design strategy for new product introductions (NPI) and existing products.
- Steer architectural decisions during early-stage development to create low-carbon hardware architectures.
- Execute strategies to reduce carbon footprint, advance product longevity, and optimize end-of-life material recovery.
- Establish technical guidelines and standards for lifecycle-conscious development across the organization.
- Architect data-driven tools to quantify, visualize, and report on product carbon footprint and circular design.
- Mentor and align cross-functional teams to foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical product development with a broad understanding of the hardware lifecycle.
- Deep knowledge of mechanical, materials, and electronics design.
- Proficiency in lifecycle thinking and sustainable design principles.
- Fluency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Location: Must be based in or able to work in Cork, Ireland (Hybrid model).
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies.
- Degree in Industrial Design, CMF Design, UX Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
