What you will do

• Design and lead the regional sustainability and environmental strategy for the Midwest region.
• Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with community partners and government agencies.
• Support regional growth by overseeing permitting efforts and governmental relations.
• Collaborate with sales teams to integrate sustainability visions into business growth.
• Lead and develop the Midwest Environmental team and build a pipeline of experts.
• Liaise with Corporate Environmental teams to standardize enterprise policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific (biology, chemistry, environmental science) or engineering discipline.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to the Chicago area.
• Ability to travel approximately 35%.
• Deep knowledge of environmental regulatory programs such as RCRA and the Clean Air Act.

Nice to have

• Experience with Title V air operating permits and solid waste facility permits.
• Executive-level experience with Profit and Loss (P&L) management.
• Knowledge of regulations specifically impacting the waste-to-energy industry.
• Experience working in a Lean or Continuous Improvement environment.
