Lead Test Engineer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada (Flexible)

Salary: $150,000–$196,900 per year

What you will do

• Design test strategies and plans for new features developed by the Batch Analytics team.
• Review architecture and design decisions, assess risks, and define the required testing scope.
• Design and implement automated tests for REST APIs, data pipelines, microservices, and end-to-end workflows.
• Coordinate exploratory testing and bug hunts to evaluate user experience and identify defects.
• Maintain TestNG-based automation and Jenkins pipelines, triage failures, and improve test code.
• Collaborate in cross-functional design and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software testing experience.
• Strong experience with Java or Python and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools.
• Experience designing test plans for cloud software and testing REST APIs.
• Experience with web-scale data, distributed systems, microservices, and multi-tenant cloud applications.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda.

Nice to have

• Experience with other object-oriented languages.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Presto, or S3.
