Automation QA Lead (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with mandatory office attendance three days per week.

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of scalable test automation frameworks.
• Define automation roadmaps with the Test Automation Manager and align testing strategies with development and business objectives.
• Evaluate and optimize automation tooling, including AI-assisted solutions, for continuous integration and delivery.
• Provide technical direction across mobile, web, API, and microservices testing; review code and builds and maintain automation guidelines.
• Mentor test automation engineers and lead workshops, presentations, demos, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Manage automation infrastructure across on-premises labs, cloud platforms, and third-party tools.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing, assembling, and integrating test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestRail, and API automation solutions.
• Experience leading complex, multi-team testing initiatives in fast-paced agile environments.
• Solid experience integrating automation into cloud-based CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with database or microservices testing.
• Experience applying new technologies such as AI/ML within projects.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar programming or scripting languages.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to guide and develop team members.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to travel to offshore teams if needed, approximately five days per year.

Nice to have

• ISTQB or ISEB Advanced certification.
• Experience with LangSmith, DeepEval, Ragas, Promptfoo, or similar tools; agentic workflows, RAG applications, or AI evaluation pipelines.
• Cloud certification in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Track record of successful automation initiatives and understanding of software structured around core business concepts.
• Experience with contract testing.
• Game development or mobile gaming experience, preferably with Unity mobile applications.
• Knowledge of cloud security testing guidelines.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, or ELK stack, as well as advanced reporting.
