TL;DR

Associate, Coverage Renewables & Power (Project Finance): Support origination and execution of power and renewables project finance lending transactions with an accent on due diligence, financial debt modeling, and structuring for capital markets deals. Focus on building client-facing materials and reviewing financing documents while contributing strategic insights for ING’s business development.

Salary: $130,000 - $175,000

What you will do

• Support MDs, Directors, and VPs with origination and/or participation in power project financings.
• Perform due diligence and prepare presentation materials for financing opportunities, capital structuring, and M&A transactions.
• Prepare pitches, briefing notes, and marketing materials for client meetings and new commercial opportunities.
• Identify and drive cross-sell opportunities with product partners and clients.
• Support product partners in structuring private placement and ABS transactions.
• Review financing documents and project agreements; liaise with internal and external legal counsel.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of relevant project/corporate finance experience, ideally in the North American power industry.
• Strong academic track record (Undergraduate or Masters from a top school) and strong math skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong Excel skills to build financial debt models; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting and core financial statements (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Balance Sheet).

Nice to have

• Writing sample (preferably a credit analysis) and completion of a basic debt modelling test.
• Series 79/63 preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of corporate and bankruptcy law.
