TL;DR

Yield Development Engineer (Semiconductor): Identifying root-cause yield limiters and driving yield and manufacturability improvements across advanced electronic assembly manufacturing. What you will do

  • Support advanced electronic assembly manufacturing process development in assembly technology development labs.
  • Run ToF-SIMS, XPS, mIRage, nano IR, and Raman spectroscopy analyses.
  • Analyze complex ToF-SIMS/Auger/XPS/IR data to identify yield limiters.
  • Apply fundamental problem solving to electronic packaging manufacturing issues.
  • Provide direct customer support and participate in safety initiatives, lab sustaining and development, process transfer, tool ownership, and training.
  • Assist with routine instrument maintenance and provide flexible surface/materials analysis support as needed.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied physics, or a STEM-related field, with 1+ years experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years experience.
  • Experience operating UHV-based analytical equipment, including at least one of: ToF-SIMS, Auger/XPS, dynamic SIMS, mIRage, FTIR, Nano-IR, Raman, AFM, SEM/EDS.
  • Required PhD degree or expectation to complete the PhD by Aug. 2026.
  • Ability to work independently and interface effectively with peers, engineers, technicians, and other analytical groups.
  • Strong communication and organizational/prioritization skills.
