TL;DR
Platform Development Engineer (Power MOSFET): Contributing across the full product development lifecycle for next-generation power semiconductor MOSFET platforms with an accent on device architecture, TCAD/Cadence/Klayout-based design, and data analysis from wafer test through validation and industrialisation. Focus on translating customer requirements into platform specifications and solving complex reliability and manufacturability challenges.
Location: Manchester (Stockport) — Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

What you will do
- Interpret Customer Requirement Specifications for new power MOSFET products.
- Design and develop technology platforms and products using TCAD, Cadence, and Klayout.
- Perform data analysis across wafer test, assembly, and qualification stages.
- Prepare clear technical summaries and communicate complex information to R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and interact with external customers, global suppliers, and assembly/test operations across the development chain.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Several years of experience in power semiconductor technology development (Power MOSFETs, ideally Silicon), including device physics, process interactions, manufacturability, and failure mechanisms.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex technical information for stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work on site based in Stockport on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in office).
Nice to have
- Project management experience across multiple development streams.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, Statistica, or SPSS.
- Hands-on root cause analysis experience (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, containment strategies).
