What you will do

• Establish and develop the electronics engineering team, setting technical standards and improving engineering processes, design reviews, documentation, and verification approaches.
• Provide technical leadership for electronics design and motion control across the full product range, including defining and maintaining electronics/control system architecture.
• Lead motion-control strategy (actuator requirements, drive-system architecture, and motion-control approaches) and ensure system-level design decisions support performance and reliability.
• Stay hands-on with circuit design, PCB reviews, hardware debugging, instrumentation, and evaluation of electromechanical control behavior.
• Collaborate across software, firmware, and mechanical teams to integrate motion and system control, and coordinate with manufacturing, quality, service, and partners for product introduction and sustaining engineering.
• Own electronics deliverables across the development lifecycle (concept through release), including compliance with EMC/safety/regulatory standards, hazard analysis, and design risk assessments.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on electronics design background (analogue, digital, power, sensing, comms).
• Substantial experience with motion control in electromechanical or automation systems, including system-level motion architecture and integration with software.
• Deep experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM/Cortex-M or similar) and collaboration on embedded firmware development.
• Experience applying control-theory principles to real-world electromechanical systems (feedback, stability, system response, practical tuning).
• Proven ability to debug and diagnose hardware using scopes, logic analysers, and JTAG tools.
• Experience managing or technically leading an engineering team (or a strong desire to step into management), with the ability to set technical direction and communicate trade-offs.
