What you will do
- Design, analyze, develop, test, and qualify complex flight and engine control products for military and commercial aircraft.
- Plan and execute R&D project work: define tasks, estimate effort and duration, and provide technical oversight in collaboration with the R&D Projects Manager.
- Build and apply mathematical performance models (e.g., SPICE, Excel, MathCAD, MATLAB/Simulink) and perform FEA.
- Create 3D designs and 2D drawings, and develop assembly techniques and associated tooling.
- Develop qualification test methods and compile analysis/test reports for review and approval.
- Apply aerospace configuration control and quality systems, and present technical details to customers.
Requirements
- Proven competence in aerospace-sector electro-mechanical, electro-hydraulic and/or mechatronic control components/systems.
- Experience with project planning and execution, including task definition, estimation, and technical oversight.
- Hands-on capability with mathematical performance modelling and analysis tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, FEA).
- Ability to produce 3D design and 2D drawings, and knowledge of aerospace materials and machining/fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of qualification test methods, configuration control, and quality systems.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained.
