Functional Test Engineer (Experience in Debug)

What you will do

• Execute functional validation plans and complex system- and subsystem-level test suites covering functional, performance, and power requirements.
• Isolate, reproduce, and debug failures across hardware, software, firmware, and test environments.
• Perform root-cause analysis, validate fixes, and drive failure investigations from symptoms through resolution.
• Develop and maintain Python, LabView, and other automation tools for test execution, data collection, and CI flows.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, JTAG, PLC, DAC cards, GDB, logging, and tracing tools during validation and debugging.
• Collaborate with hardware, ASIC design, firmware, architecture, and software teams while documenting bugs, coverage, and debug processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in system validation, functional testing, ASIC/SoC debugging, or related engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture, microprocessors, DDR, PCIe, and I2C, SPI, UART, and USB protocols.
• Proficiency in Python, LabView, or Ladder Logic, plus working knowledge of C/C++ for firmware or driver-level debugging.
• Hands-on experience with ASIC or SoC bring-up, post-silicon validation, CI pipelines, and automated validation frameworks.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Bugzilla, or equivalent version-control and bug-tracking tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
